Only last 7 kms is still under repair and one can expect it to be completed by end of year 2017.

Route Taken: Sakleshpura – Byakaravalli – Hethur – Vanagur Junction – Bisle ghat View point.

Ridge Point: Just before 4 Kms from Bisle view point, you will reach a village called Mankanahalli.
There you’ll find an inscription laid on a concrete platform.
It makes a mention of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and the ‘Ridge’.
The ridge is the point in the mountains that determines which way rivers or streams are likely to flow.
It is said that this stone was laid by the British.
British officers found that it was the point where rain water splits and reaches two different seas.
From this ridge, rain water flowing to the west joins River Kumaradhara, unites with River Netravathy before making it to Arabian Sea.
Water flowing to the east links up with River Hemavathy, a tributary of River Cauvery, to join the Bay of Bengal.
The rain water from the left of this point flows towards the west to reach Arabian Sea while water from the eastern side drains into the Bay of Bengal.
